Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th, 1972. Her family was however raised in Charleston West Virginia. The father of Jennifer Garner, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local university. Her father was a chemical engineer, so she wanted to be like his. She moved into New York in order to follow her dreams as an actor. She worked at a restaurant while appearing in Broadway productions. She was in a minor part in the film "Felicity" (where it was that she first met Scott Foley). She got her big break in the action film "Alias." Garner's first lead role was in the widely praised love story "13 Going on 30." She portrayed the role of a teenager caught stuck in the body of a 30-year-old. Garner selected Gary Winick for the role of director. Both actors continued working with each other on various projects when Winick's death in the year 2011. Garner was made an ambassador for artists by Save the Children U.S.A. Apart from promoting early education, literacy and nutrition at the national level, Garner's role is also to promote national literacy. Garner is a board member as a member of the board since 2014, is an advocate of early education. As a member of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) program's ambassador team Garner has visited families on a regular basis to provide them with strategies to inspire their kids to be successful.
