April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th July, started taking guitar and piano classes at age seven. She was interested in songwriting was sparked. In the teen years, April wrote her first song Different. She spent a lot of hours at the age of 14 creating songs and playing. Then she began to take trips to write with her father in NY as well as LA. April also began to integrate additional relevant subjects into the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure problems and teenage suicide. Lockhart has her own fanbase and has a job as an online lifestyle blogger for the popular Ilia Pure Beauty brand. Yes, she was born with no left hand, and it gives her a unique look. However, that's not the only characteristic of her. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on her account on Instagram However, she doesn't really place it in the spotlight of her account. What message does it convey? That we all contain multitudes of identities and we're more than our physical selves. Lockhart declared in video form that she does not want to be defined by her disability. She does not want to be a disability advocate one who focuses only on it. There is a lot of aspects that make up Lockhart. My everyday life isn't impaired by the disability. I live my normal routine and have my own solutions to issues. Because it is also part of my identity, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Self-acceptance runs for life but Lockhart is an absolute inspiration in this regard. She has had periods where she felt uncomfortable in dressing in certain styles that exposed her arms. The fashionista wears what she loves and posts photos of herself in the outfits she selects to share on social networks. She says that self-love is a journey. I'm not certain if it will ever be over. This is true for everyone regardless of degree of self-confidence. It is important to have people that know and can relate to you. They'll help you remind yourself of what you are worried about.
